ALAMINOS began as a barrio of San Pablo City which was then only a town belonging to the province of Batangas. It's initial name was TRINCHERA denoting the presence of long and deep ditches. The early inhabitants of Trinchera were believed to be insorectors and possibly fugitives who took advantage of the numerous trenches for hiding and as well as defense against Spanish authority.

Cabuyao, a town some 45 kilometers away from Manila is located in Laguna, an island province which is at the southern end of the province of Rizal. It is bounded on the east by Laguna de Bay on the west by the province of Cavite on the north by the municipality of Sta. Rosa and on the south, the municipality of Calamba.

There was a legend that during the early days of the Spanish occupation, a "Guardia Civil", while making his tour of duty in what is now the town of Calamba, met a young woman who had just been to a nearby river carrying a jar of water. The guard inquired for the name of the place. In her confusion, the woman answered "kalan-banga" after which she scurried away. Since then, this town has been called Calamba. To immortalized the town's legend, a big concrete jar was constructed in the town plaza with the names of the barrios inscribed in it.

The Municipality of Liliw was founded in 1571 by Gat Tayaw. The small, peaceful and picturesque town nestled at the foot of Mt. Banahaw , 17 kilometers away from Santa Cruz , capital of Laguna Province . According to a story, Gat Tayaw and his men erected a bamboo pole and decided to name the town after the bird that would first alight at the top of the pole. After four (4) days, a crow perched on the pole, however, the bird was considered malevolent. Thus, Gat Tayaw and his men decided to erect another bamboo pole at the south. With constant vigil, a beautiful bird nestled on the pole and sang, "Liw, Liw, Liw". From then, the town named "Liliw".

Before the conquest of Laguna Lake region. Nagcarlan was headed by a valiant datu named Gat Lakilaw. Its conversion to Christianity began in 1578 through the efforts of Fr. Juan de Plasensia and Fr. Diego Oropesa, both Franciscan missionaries. The community formally became a pueblo in 1583 under Fr. Tomas de Miranda, who brought Nagcarlan the first seeds of wheat ever on Philippine soil.
