Quirino is a land of wild forests, rugged mountains and the rivers themselves are actually ideal for whitewater rafting, lie along Governor Rapids at Maddela, where a series of limestone walls jut out from one side of the extensive Cagayan River. The province is a hodgepodge of different cultural and tribal groups such as the Ilongots and Aetas, all speaking various northern languages.
